Bulverde Business Solutions is a financial and operational support partner for growing businesses across Texas — built on referrals, which only happen when the work holds up.
Built the Slow Way — One Business at a Time
Matt and Emily Starnes founded BBS in Bulverde in 2021. It started the way a lot of good firms start: with a single client who needed their books straightened out and someone who would actually pick up the phone.
That client told someone else. So did the next one. Almost every client we have today came from a referral — which is a slower way to grow a business, and a much harder one to fake. You don't get referred for being cheap. You get referred for being reliable when something goes wrong.
Today BBS is a team handling bookkeeping, payroll, AP/AR, reporting, and advisory work for businesses across the Hill Country, the major Texas metros, and remotely nationwide. The work got bigger. The standard didn't move.
We're deliberately not built like a solo operation, and deliberately not built like a national firm. We carry the insurance, the audited technology, and the documented processes of a real firm — while still being the people who answer when you call.

BBS is locally owned by Matt and Emily Starnes, who founded the firm in Bulverde, Texas in 2021. It remains independently owned and operated — not a franchise and not part of a national chain.
Is BBS a CPA firm?
No. BBS provides bookkeeping, payroll, and financial operations services — not CPA, tax preparation, or attest services. We keep your books accurate and CPA-ready so your tax professional can work efficiently, and we're glad to coordinate directly with them.
How long has BBS been in business?
Since 2021. Our team brings more than 20 years of combined experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and business operations, and we've been BBB Accredited since 2023.
Where is your office?
30235 Heimer Cove, Suite 2, Bulverde, TX 78163 — in the Texas Hill Country just north of San Antonio. We serve clients throughout Bulverde, San Antonio, Spring Branch, Boerne, and New Braunfels in person, and work remotely with businesses well beyond that.
What makes BBS different from a solo bookkeeper?
We operate as a firm rather than an individual. That means General Liability, Professional Liability (E&O), and Cyber Liability insurance, a SOC 2-compliant client portal instead of email attachments, documented workflows, and team coverage — so your books don't stop when one person is unavailable.
